I disabled the bixby button but now I want to give it a try. How do I enable it? I am using nova launcher is that makes difference.

As long as you disabled it with the stock app and not through rooting or other means, the press-and-hold action will always open Bixby. Just do that and while holding the button and Bixby has come up, just say 'Open Bixby'. There you can re-enable the button.

Thanks I tried that and it wasn't working. I haven't rooted though. Maybe I will reboot and try again.

Did you disable any app in the App Manager? I don't think you can disable Bixby services, but maybe that's also a possibility?

Just had the problem myself.

You have to temporarily go back to the Samsung launcher, scroll left to the Bixby page, then renable the Bixby button.

Apps -> (hamburger on upper right) Default Apps -> Home Screen

Really? I wonder why, though. I use Nova too, and I just tried disabling the button a bunch of times and every time I can just press and hold to open Bixby back. Weird. T-Mo version here in case that might matter.

Can't speak for the OP, but it happened to me while I was trying to get bxActions to work. I did not realize that bxActions required that the button remain enabled, and I had disabled it. And bxActions stopped the long press from working. I had also disabled the Bixby voice activation. Sigh.

So I had to find that workaround.
