I have a Samsung S9 SM-G9600 with the newest possible Android, which is 10.
It's an Android problem, not S9 problem.
I bought this when I lived in China. I think it was originally a China Unicom fork of Android.
And when I left China, I tried to root it myself, resulting in a bricking, where it wouldn’t go past the ‘choose language’ screen.
Took it to a few shops, one was able to restore it.
And all was well for a year.
Now I downloaded the BiliBili (the YouTube of China) apk from APKPure (link to APKPure on BiliBili’s own website), and I went to the downloads folder to try to install it, and that’s where the problem started.
Before I could find it, the phone froze and a cycle of restarts started with bizarre glitches on the screen.
Pardon the mangy screen protector. Genius curved edge...

Somehow after many spontaneous and my own restarts it seemed to have got back to normal. But the screen had a purplish tinge, and when brightness was pulled below 30%, it would be green

When I tried to use files by Google to find and delete that apk, the phone froze again, an hour of restarts and glitches.
I managed to start in safe mode, but it was glitching there as well.
I was not able to Restart into recovery mode by pressing the Bixby, power and volume down.
I got here (image translated by WeChat), and up-volume only took me to Downloading...

I deleted files by google and tried to access the download folder with updated My files by Samsung. I could not find the APK anywhere.
I had downloaded it there by sending it to myself on WeChat (the WhatsApp of China). I’ve done that many times with many apk’s.
And it froze again and glitch restarts started.
When I managed to get back to normal mode, I wanted to at least do Google One backup. But it required Google photos, and when it was about 80% finished installing, phone froze and glitching restarts started again.
After an hour of that, and getting back to normalish mode, turns out photos did get installed, so at least I was be able to do the backup.
But of course soon after, trying to use an app, back to the cycles.
Strange thing, during one of the cycles when screen is dark, when press power and volume down, it does make the shutter-sound for screen capture, as if the phone were running normally.
Thank you muchly,
Roy
