Black bubble around grey text on my Samsung S8

When I go onto settings etc... my screen is white but the text is dark grey and there is a black curved box around the text which makes it almost impossible to see. Happend automatically after I installed the recent update and can't find how to change or remove.

Welcome to Android Central! Pie brought with it some problems with theming that can cause text to be difficult to see. Try changing themes until you find one that makes everything legible.
