Black HTC One

I have been wanting this phone ever since HTC announced it back in February! I sat back and watched the other three major carriers announce and start selling this phone. Five to six months later verizon finally starts selling the phone. There were no press events no nothing! I read about it coming to verizon through means of other (here) forums through out the web. I was over joyed when I read it was finally coming. After all this time of waiting its finally here. Then bang silver is the only color they offer! I couldn't believe this was happening and still cant!! Every phone I have ever owned has been black. Black is a staple color for all phones. It always has been! I have always been a huge fan of HTC's phones. In fact thats all I have ever owned in smartphones is HTC. I feel sorry for HTC! This phone could have been much bigger if all four major carriers carried it from launch in at least two colors! Black and silver! To this day I dont understand why Verizon dropped the ball on this phone? Arguably this is the best phone on the planet right now! Why wouldn't verizon want to have as many colors as possible to sell? They knew it was doing very very well watching for five to six months long while all the other three major carriers sell the hell out of it! The only thing that makes sense is possibly two things to me. One all they really care or cared about was or is there droid line or two they were never going to carry this phone at all?! Maybe they were going to do a droid dna 2 and then saw how well this one was selling and decided to start carrying it. I dont know for sure no one does but what I do know is I want this phone bad and I want it to be in BLACK! Has anyone heard anything anything at all regarding weather or not this is or will ever happen?

I haven't heard anything. Verizon disappointed me so many times I left. I'm sure they're past caring about this with the launch of the new Droid line, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

My phones too have been black up to this point. Frankly I am liking the silver one. Not only can you feel the build quality, you can see it too.
When I picked up my phone I looked at the csr and said it was about time. He said why because of the availability? I said yeah.
Like they don't know what's going on...yeah.

The cool thing about the silver One is if you ding it, you won't notice it as much. If you ding the black one it'll show silver.

I had my heart set on the black one as well. Then, when I found out Verizon would only be offering the silver model, I embarked on a campaign to brainwash myself into liking the silver one more. Haha... I decided I would stop watching YouTube videos of the black version, would look at pictures of the silver model as often as possible, and would imagine myself owning and using the silver model. I gave myself a list of reasons why the silver model is better. I bragged about the silver model to my friends. And you know what? It actually worked. Now I'm happy I have the silver model, and if Verizon released a black one tomorrow, I wouldn't regret my choice. Now, all that said, it does make me angry that Verizon doesn't care enough about their customers to give them such a simple choice. I'm getting tired of their nonsense, and I am hopeful that Sprint will have their network in shape by the time my contract with VZW is up.

also bite the bullet for the Silver... I wanted the black just as bad. that said. i pay cash and keep in a case. the black does scuff and scratch a bit easier or so iv read. so when it's time to upgrade it should be a lot easier to sell.... my plan-. I purchased some black speaker skins from HTC One Skins & Carbon Fiber Skins | dbrand .... at 5.00 a pop I figured what the heck. it should appear black under the case and the skin... that said. the silver is beautiful so im happy either way. this phone defiantly rocks-.

A resounding I AGREE! Look at every black demo model at the stores....they are scratched beyond belief. It's the reason I decided on silver...probably good for me that Verizon only offered Silver.

Wow you all who've commented that you've only ever had black phones must be really young. Silver was the color for a long time not that long ago. 3 phones and almost 6 years ago for me. Anyway, I too was a little disappointed to find that with all of the colors that the One has been released in that Big Red was only getting the silver One. I have two theories about this and one conclusion. Theory #1, is exactly as the OP pointed out, Verizon held off for so long their customers weren't even sure if they would get the phone, so to cover their proverbial butts they opted for one color. That way there was no fighting over who got what color, no green phones sitting on a shelf because everyone wanted red or blue. The other carriers all share the fact that any phone bought on one will transfer to another so they could easily sell off unpopular colors on their network to other networks where the color may be more appealing. Theory #2, Verizon never plans to market this phone so why do they care what customers want when it comes to this unit. They always, and only it seems these days, push their droid (Moto) branded units. No one can say they didn't offer it, and if it doesn't do well maybe people will buy their other lower quality phones, that they want to push. If you really want a different color I'd look into slickwraps, plus a little protection.

I really hope that verizon gets at least the black color in fairly soon or gives a definitive "no" to anymore colors coming. I mean the coating can't be too defective if they are releasing a new blue color already.

So I see the blue one is coming 2 verizon. Why on earth is there no black one? Has anyone heard anything at all regarding a black one?

Like you I am also waiting for a black HTC One. I had all but gotten over it until the blue model popped up on the internet yesterday. Needless to say im beyond pissed at this point as a customer. Hey Verizon if your listening. I dont want a Moto X, I dont want your Droid line, Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 or the new iPhone im sure you'll carry. I want an HTC One in black or a Nexus device without your interference. No dissrespect intended to anyone who wants those phones.
