I rooted but decided to go back to factory. I used bubby's one click to root an then used his s-on tool and the RUU method to return to factory settings. All went smoothly. And now my phone finally received the update notification so I switched to WiFi and downloaded it. Started installing it and when the phone reboots at the beginning of the install it just goes to a black screen. I let it sit for almost an hour and nothing changed so I did a battery pull and rebooted. Phone works perfectly but I cannot get it to complete the update. Always ends in a black screen and frozen phone. Any ideas?

That's weird. I would suggest to go back to root. Then there is no need for the update. What was the reason for going back to the stock?

I only rooted it to rid myself of the garbage bloatware. I don't really intend on running any custom roms or anything at the moment

Gotchya. I hate the useless bloatware too. If there is no trace of root on your phone, you could take it to at&t. I have heard of people going back and use their warranty. If you don't have a warranty they still might be able to help

i used the RUU to go back to stock...the only thing left is the superuser icon; cant seem to get rid of it and it seems the only way to do it is to root the phone again?

I had the same issue with my rooted inspired. Downloaded the update, then after install started black screen! I followed the same steps: removed battery and rebooted with no problems. I don't know what this update is for or if I do need it, but I'm of the ideas that updates are to fix issues, and who wants a phone with issues?
Anyway... you're not alone on this one. You do seem to have the advantage of knowing a lot more about your phone than I know about mine.
Everything seemed to be working after reboot, and I haven't messed with it since.

Im having that issue right now..how do you fix that and get the update.. do you have to unroot? and re root?
