Black screen

I got a Straight talk s3 for free from a friend. It has a cracked screen. The phone turns on and makes noises but the screen stays black. No logo or anything. However I can swipe across the acreen and hear the screen unlock. I have already taken it apart to make sure everythings connected and dry. Anything else I can try or is the lcd fried for sure?

The LCD and the touch panel are two different parts. It sounds like your LCD is busted if you've checked the connections and everything looks good.
