BlackBerry to EVO owners

What type of alarm clock is there?
Can you set more than one alarm time? I have BB smart alarm pro on the BB. Does evo have something comparable?
The alarm clock (I believe is HTC Sense) and it is really robust.

You can set multiple alarms with a specific day schedule for each one. I don't know how many the maximum is, but I had 4 alarms set at one time.

You can use custom alarm and notification tones, but they need to go in the right folder.

Here's a link to a post I made about the same issue: Notification Sounds

For all the BlackBerry to Evo owners.

How was the switch?

What do you miss?

What do you like?

Is the a notification light?

I am currently on a Curve 8330. The Evo looks like the android I will switch to.

Also one last question.. With all this talk about 30fps locked screen... Is it really that noticeable?? I mean sure there may be some lag... But hell it can't be any worse then the BB screens??

The switch was painless. I already used Gmail on my Blackberry and synced all my contacts to my google account with google sync (blackberry app) before upgrading. Also I already used Google Calendar so those auto synced as well.

Love the os and the total media experience. Also it's nice to have more than 40-50 apps to choose from that interest me.

The notification is a light...although I miss the extra colors.

30fps is ok...a bit of a bummer but you can't really notice any detriment.

I came from a Tour.

How was the switch?

The switch was seamless. I already use google apps for my company and had a personal gmail account. On the tour I used google sync so all my contacts were already on my google apps account. The keyboard took about two days and I think I am faster on the evo now with the predictive text.

What do you miss?

I miss blackberry's ability to change alert settings depending on where it was. For example bedside mode when I put it in the dock or changing everything to vibrate when I put it in the holster.

What do you like?

Everything. I had a moment where I was angry I put up with my blackberry for over a year. K-9 Mail or MailDroid takes care of a unified inbox. Setting Profiles takes care of bedside mode, although I have to do it manually.

There really is to much to list that I like better. To name just a few. Forward voicemail by email. Google places. Google My Tracks. Smooth Calendar Widget. Its amazing how much better this phone runs apps compared to blackberry. Take evernote as an example. It was unusable on my tour and I couldn't figure out why people were raving about it. After trying it on the EVO I get it now.

Is the a notification light?

There is a notification light but its not as good as blackberry.

I have not noticed the 30 fps.

Battery life has been the same or better than the tour.

I came from the Tour.

How was the switch? Great

What do you miss? The BBM

What do you like? The screen size and clarity

Is the a notification light? Huh?

For all the BlackBerry to Evo owners.

I came from a BB Curve 8330
How was the switch?
Fun...but took some getting used to!
What do you miss?
Battery life, large notification light, keyboard

What do you like?
LOVE the browsing experience, and the fact that it's basically a mini laptop. This phone does EVERYTHING!
Is the a notification light?
Yes, but much smaller and less noticeable than the BB

I came from a BB 8330, also. When it came time to upgrade, I was debating between the BB 9650 and the Evo. I am so glad that I chose the Evo!

How was the switch?
The transition went smoothly for me. I utilized google sync on my BB, so my contacts and calendar synced right up to the Evo.

What do you miss?
I don't really miss anything. Using wi-fi on the Evo, I am actually able to get better battery life than I did with the Curve.

What do you like?
I like everything about the Evo! It is way faster than the Curve. The browser is awesome. I am able to utilize multiple alarm settings. There are just way too many things I like about the Evo that I can't list them all.

Is the a notification light?
Yes, there is a notification light. Like someone else mentioned, though, it is smaller an less noticable than the BB's.

The Evo was definitely the right choice for me!

Came from an 8330 myself. Without major changes I can't see myself going back, frankly.

The one app I miss, believe it or not, is Berryweather.
