Decided to take the plunge and leave BlackBerry after 7 years. It wasn't an easy decision mind you, but one that had to be made. I still don't think blackbery are finished and I would certainly consider going back.

I purchased the above and would hope all you HTC One users and abusers will advise of some great tips and tricks.

Android is a whole new world to me and I can't wait to explore the wealth apps etc.

My major concern is data usage. The phone eats a lot of data compared to the BB Z10. Included in my contract is 1gb of data but I don't see myself staying within that if my device is allowed to continue on eating.

Thanks for reading...

You've made a great choice. The Z10 is one of my back up phones and I love the classy look of it compared to most others. Hub is awesome and swipe gestures while texting are good.

However, the One is an awesome phone. I'm on it now and have gone through every high end phone you can think of. It's got a professional look in my opinion like the Z10. I'd suggest using Hangouts as your texting app because you can swipe to the right to go back to texts lists, much like in the Hub.

The sound quality is amazing and take advantage of the speaker phone.

As far as data goes, make sure you're using the "power save" option. Really helpful.

that's good. you've taken your first step into a larger world.

Always keep your data off unless you need it, whether it be to check your social media or to browse the internet.
I only have 500 mb of data and I never find my self needing more.
Just make sure when ever you watch videos or download anything that you are connected to WiFi.

If you go to settings and click on "more.." it shows you a graph of your data usage.
You can set it to 1 GB Data limit
It'll warn you when you've used half your available data.
And then it'll warn you when you're close to using 1 GB data. This way there's no way you'll pass your limit.
