Just one more reason to love our DNA's!

One of my colleagues switched over to Apple a couple of years ago because the company went that direction (came from Blackberry products).
Since he has had nothing but issues trying to sync with Outlook, calendars, contacts, etc. He always ended up with multiple calendars, contacts, etc.
iCloud, MobileMe....what a mess. He is not a "techy" sort of guy and could never get things to work quite right.
In the past he was very comfortable with BB because it automatically synced Outlook, etc.
He convinced the company to let him switch back to BB so he picked up a BB Z10 yesterday.
Unbelievable, BB took away the one thing that made them a great business phone.....automatic Outlook, contact and calendar sync.
Now you have to create an account with Outlook.com, load Outlook Connector to your PC, copy and paste....yada, yada.
Might as well be in Egyptian to him.

Check out the instructions and the complaints in the blog.

Yeah, my friend is going in to look at the Windows phone and possibly Android.
He says the Z10 reboots at least 5 times a day and freezes at least twice. Seems to be common with the Z10.

Seems that some things never change. Back in my BB days. (9530&9550) freezing and rebooting was as common as breathing. I looked at the z10,interested with what direction RIM went, but it seems to be back on fail street. I've never owned a windows phone but will pick one up any day over another BB.

The outlook syncing issue was a surprise when the Z10 was first released. It doesn't make sense considering their target market. From everything I read it is supposed to be fixed in the first major update to BB10, they left too many legacy things out of the new OS. The freezing/rebooting issue is not something that I have been reading as a typical problem with the Z10, quite the opposite actually. I am very impressed with the Z10 and think it is very fast and smooth and like a lot of things about it. I think it is very advanced for being a first gen OS. I do agree though that they have some polishing to do on it. I'm not at all impressed with Windows phone, the interface just doesn't do it for me. I like both Android and BB10 far better than both iOS and Windows phone.
