Blackview BV9900 cannot receive iPhone calls, Android incoming calls are OK.

Just replaced my BV9500 with the new BV9900 unit. Great phone so far.
Only issue I have is that incomming calls only from and iPhone do not work. If I attempt to pick up the call from an iPhone it drops and the caller sees a failed call message.
Very annoying.
Contacted Blackview and got a reply that someone would help, but that was weeks ago. Reached out again and zero reply.
Those at Verizon were great and tried to help all they could. Weird that it only affects incoming calls from only iPhones, which everyone in my family has.
I would think it would be a patch or some other update to allow iPhones to reach me. Swapped the SIM too and same thing.
What is strange is while in the Verizon store, the tech helping me had an iPhone and was able to call me OK. Other people with iPhones could not. All setting on both iPhones were identical.
Not sure where the problem is but it would be great if Blackview would help!

Welcome to Android Central! Check with those iPhone users if they were trying to call you using iMessage (either as an audio call or FaceTime call). That might cause problems with non-iPhone users.

Do you have another phone to put your sim in to test out ?

Yes, the new BV9900 replaced a BV9500. I did swap it back to the 9500 and it would receive calls from iPhones. Its an older andriod verison 8 and this is a 9. Watched it happen live in the Verizon store. The guy helping me had an iphone and was able to connect, but everyone else in the store that tried with their iPhones failed. So it must be an issue with either the phone itself, or the ROM, or a Verizon thing. Dunno

The kicker is that while in the store one iPhone worked. All others failed. No idea why or what could be the issue. Thinking it might be the phone itself?? SIM was put back in older phone and it worked as before. Pointing again to the phones software?? All updates are up to date too.

Just an update....
Blackview had me get into the engineering menus to try and send them the data on the failed calls. Sent over a few files as requested and they claim the data was no help. Now looking for a video showing the failure, which is ridiculous as I can take a picture of the screen.
Just found out another user with the same phone also has the same problem. Maybe now that there are more people having the same issue they might address it.

Was just helping my father with a similar issue. Unable to place inbound or outbound calls regardless of Android or iPhone.

I had him switch his SIM card from slot 1 to slot 2 and we were able to make successful inbound and outbound calls to android and iPhone devices. Carrier is Verizon.

Unfortunately, now we are unable to send outbound SMS/MMS messages. We are able to receive them.

I have a few more things I am going to have him try to see if we can get the messaging working again.

But try swapping SIM slots and see if that helps...

Also don't feel special.. Julia at Blackview support has been of ZERO help. Luckily I am a support engineer.

That is fantastic I will try that right now!
The most recent update they just pushed out made it worse. Now outgoing calls will fail after a few seconds, even after they connect. Like it fails for a bad connection in analog days. I then turn off the LTE Enhanced again to make and receive calls. But then nothing else works.
I will let you know of the results.

Well, the good news is that the calls works, but nothing else does. No texts. I did not turn off LTE Enhanced, but the phone seems like its working that way. Calls work but nothing else. HMMM, going back to SIM 1

Yes same result. Can receive texts and make and receive calls, but cannot send texts. If you have a workaround that would be great.
Oh the other issue with being in slot 2 is I cannot use the SD card.

Finally got a response about the calls dropping!!!!!

"Hello, customer. We have verified this problem on BV9900Pro, and if there is a result, we will modify it on all our phones. Is it impossible to send MMS and network after turning off LTE function?"

So it looks like they finally identified the issue. Now they have to correct it and send out a fix!!!!

That's pretty good tech support! The question now is how long to wait for the update ...

I would not just turn off LTE. DO they mean LTE or enhanced LTE. Turning off LTE can disable certain cellular bands which I would not recommend.

SMS/MMS still not working but inbound/outbound calls are. Factory reset phone, no help.

Last update I got from Blackview was that they are going to send us a software update. Will update accordingly.

No longer reporting any communication issues. inbound/outbound calls and inbound/outbound SMS/MMS all successful

I was mistaken. This is not my phone, it is my Dad's. He switched back to his old phone LOL. Still having issues with his Blackview BV9900. Waiting on an update from their support still. Still not able to send or receive MMS/SMS.

Not good.

Latest response from Blackview "support" ....

"Hi Customer,

this problem is not solve, maybe it is operator limation.
Please change another sim card, if still not working, please contact the seller to return the phone, thanks for your support."

My reply.

No.

I have multiple users reporting this issue.

Sim card is not the problem as it is function perfectly fine in another android device.

You are the seller. It was purchased directly from Blackview.

What is your RMA process?

Can't wait for their response!!
