blank screen after charging... help?

After charging my Nexus 7 throught the mains charger, the screen froze with just the 'fully charged' symbol visible. 5 hours later, the symbol disappeared and now I have a blank screen and the unit will not switch on. Has anyone else had this problem? What's the solution?

Try hard reset. Hold power and up or down volume at same time for 30 sec. See if that brings N7 back to life. My did something similar and the reset brought out back to life.

Try the reset while the N7 is connected to the charger.
