Hi, I recently switched from bb to a droid x phone so I am not real familiar with how they work and what sort of diagnostic programs are available. Heres the propblem. A friend of mine was in a bad car crash and now the screen on his t-mob my touch 3g slide won.t turn on. When I turn the pnone on all the buttons and keyboard light up and the phone makes several different chimes but there is no screen. I have even accidently turned on a full voice tutorial of some sort. I am assuming the phone is working and the lcd went out. I am told they sprayed water on my friend while extracting him from the car and from what I have read these screens don't like water. Is there a program I can download to test the phone before I drop $50 on a new screen? What is the best place to get a new screen? I should mention that the phone has been drying in bag of rice for 6 weeks now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

not even one response? Is this a stupid question that I should know the answer to, or does such a program not exist? can anyone help a guy trying to help a guy.thanks

Hi Phone wrecker, welcome to Android Central and I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, but I'm glad he made it out of the crash!

Unfortunately in a situation like this, there is probably some sort of hardware damage that is irreversible. If it's been a few days and restarting the device doesn't do the trick, you may have no other choice but to get a replacement device or screen.
