I noticed a blinking LED at the bottom, I figured it's because I missed a couple of Skype calls.

What else does it notify? Low battery?

I have PhonePower applet, can we get incoming call notifications from VOIP accounts?

That's the notification LED. It blinks whenever you have notifications. And low battery.

Various applications also use it as a notifier and often allow you to customize the color
