Bloatware safe to freeze

I guess I'll start a list. Here is the stuff that I have frozen without any noticeable ill effects. Feel free to update since I wasnt too daring with other possibilities. Most of these are not running so it could be best to just ignore them anyway.

What do you mean by "freeze?" Renaming the files to .bak?

Thanks NavyCow. I was just talking to Ivalum21 about this. Ivalum21, freezing is like hiding/removing unwanted apps from your system. This does a few things...It may allow you to gain some system space if some of these are actually taking up space and running in the background. (All of the bloatware on your phone,is not actually on your phone if that makes any sense.) Some stuff you have to download (full version games) or initiate for it actually be running on your phone. Freezing kills this process, so that app is unusable. It also removes the icons so your app draw doesn't look so cluttered. Now if you ever decide you want to start using that app, you can unfreeze it and start using it like it was always there(because it was, it was just hidden.) Renaming the extention from .apk to .bak is the same thing.

Stock rom, no roms for this guy yet that I am aware of. Just rooted and used titanium backup to freeze them.

Yep, all of those are OK to freeze. However I kept some that I actually like.
Quick question though if anyone knows. What is VZ SMS Filter? Haven't seen it on my previous Droid phones.

My understanding is that it is the service to filter sms from block lists that you set up on the verizon site.

just froze that, no problems , but I am partially in a 3g zone some times so ill see on lte saturation area at work later

Do you need to rename the respective 'odex' files with the apks?
