Block Downloading Images on Chrome

In a matter of minutes I used 20MB of data just browsing sites. How can I turn off downloading images like I did on my old android? I believe it will save me a lot of data.

I'm not sure that you can. I think Chrome Beta has a data compression feature you can enable. Also take a look at Opera Mini, as it also includes a feature to compress data before reaching your device.

Are there any browsers for 4.4 that can? I only have 1GB for the month at the moment.

I'd not like to download any untrusted apps and I don't mean pure text, I just mean it removes images from a site. There can still be parge formatting etc.
