Blocking Phone Numbers

I recently got a Note 8. I'm having trouble figuring out how to block a phone number from both phoning and texting.

My previous phone was a Note 5. And I had the same issue with it.

When I block a number it only blocks text messages but the person can still phone me.

Their number is set to private so I don't know if that's the reason why my phone is not blocking the phone calls. But it's very frustrating.

Any tips on how I can block the phone number from both phone calls and text messages?

Hey!
So, in order to block a number on your Galaxy Note 8 you want to do the following:
1. Go to your phone app.
2. Click the menu button. (The three dots on the top right).
3. Click Settings.
4. Click "Block numbers"

From there you can add a number manually to the list or select one of your contacts.

If the number is coming up private you can tap the "Block unknown calls" button to turn it off and turn it on.
Selecting that option will not allow anyone who is calling from a private number to call you.

Also you could check your recent call list, hit the number you want to block, hit details and hit block number (bottom right)
Same thing as Essa said but different way of getting there
