Blocking Texts from Verizon Note 4

I love the features of the stock messages app but why can't I block text message senders?

I tried Google messenger but it won't download MMS properly.

Textra SMS. (The site is having link problems again, so take the spaces out of https://play . google . com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra )

Long press a text from a number you want to block and blacklist it.

You can only block them with the verizon text messaging app

Why do carriers have to take out features?

You can block people using apps such as Textra or Google Messenger.

Who says you can't block senders in the stock app? Settings>>Spam Filter

You can block by number and / or phrases or you can long-press on the message on the message list. What else would you need?

No. Verizon took that option out of the stock messenger. You can temporarily block 5 numbers in a Verizon account. I just stuck with Google Messenger after I realized that you have to hit the "download" arrow button at the top right corner... oops.
