Blue dots freezing Android screen

Hello,

My pixel 7 and 8 have this issue of 3 blue dots appearing and freezing the screen. I need to close the screen before I can continue. Any idea what this can cause?

Issues is that no apps were added recently so hard to figure out in safe mode which app can cause this. Just curious if more users face this issue. Could find only one hit for a Samsung user who is facing the same issue.

It doesn't necessarily have to be any apps that were recently installed -- there could've been an update to some other app you installed a while ago that is now causing this, perhaps due to some new "feature" that's glitchy.

Can you show a screenshot that also includes your status bar along the top? I want to see if there are any suspicious notification or status icons that might suggest some associated app running in the background.

do a soft reset by hold down both power and volume down button for 20 seconds, but i didn't see the blue dots..

You enabled anything in developer settings or accessibility settings?

In the center of the screenshot -- they've merged together. I think they merge and the separate in a cycle. I feel like I've seen that before, but can't quite place it

Yes developer mode is enabled for my phone

Make sure nothing was toggled on by accident
