blue light filter VS blue light filter app

The Samsung S8 has a blue light filter built in. There are also filter apps. Which one is better , the built in or an app?

Built in. The apps create a red overlay so you'll get hit with the turn off overlay bug whenever you need some secure stuff done. Also the red overlays use up more battery because it creates a reddish hue even over black areas. However the built in one only alters the areas with active pixels.
