Blue Screen

Last week while surfing the net on google chrome my moto g screen turned blue and then shut down and rebooted. I dismissed it as a rare glitch but then it occurred again the next day and the next but now its gone to a whole new level. Its restarting like that after a few seconds after restarting! Somehow within the short window of time I managed to restart in safe mode. It seems to have stopped in safe mode which is why I could write this. Please help! I have done a hard reset bit still the problem is occurring. Do u think its a virus that has hone into the recovery partition? My phone is not rooted and I have not tried to root it. Any help will be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Try wiping the cache partition from the Recovery Menu: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...etail/a_id/97335/p/30,6720,9050/kw/clear cche. If you can't get to the Recovery Menu, let us know--the steps may have changed with either KitKat or Lollipop.

I can't seem to get past step 5. I have successfully entered the recovery screen but can't get into the recovery menu from where I should clear the cache.

Sorry by trial and error I somehow got to the menu and wiped the cache

It seems to have made the device a little smoother though. Moreover I thought that the moto g's boot loader was locked??? By the way do I have to format the device again or should I wait and see if the problem recurs?

No, you shouldn't have to do a factory reset again.
