I apologize if this belongs in a more general forum, but since I am on the Atrix, figured this was a safe bet.
There will be a TLDR version at the bottom.
I believe I am using 2.2, not rooted, just the stock out of the box phone. Consider myself very tech saavy but this is my first Android device, so very much a beginner with this platform.
Basically I purchases a deck for my car to stream audio and phone calls while on the road. It all worked great using Winamp for about 20 minutes then I'd lose the bluetooth connectivity, however playback continues with no sound at all. Till I either turned off bluetooth, unpaired and repaired with the deck. This happens every time after a few minutes using Winamp.
One thing to note with Winamp, only while using bluetooth though, is that the phone seems to hang up and slow down drastically after a bit and sometimes it won't properly allow me to turn on and off the bluetooth, which then I have to reboot and it works and the cycle continues. Is this a memory leak or something of the sort?
So I then decided to use Amazon mp3 player. This has worked flawlessly and not dropped out at all yet after several straight hours and a days worth of random use. So after deciding I'll just stick with Amazon mp3 for now, I go about my merry way then decide I want to use the controls on the deck vs the phone (previously mounted in an accessible place.) However, these controls will not control the amazon player, they do however control Winamp.
So if music is playing with Amazon, I hit play/pause on my stereo, winamp starts playing and i have 2 songs at the same time. This happens after a fresh reboot, as far as I can tell, killing the winamp process all together short of uninstalling. Once so far, it also started playing my audiobook through Audible.
If by chance you haven't figured it out by now, I am trying to get my car stereo's playback controls to control the program I have open at the time, which will be either amazon player or Audible. I'm thinking I;ll just uninstall Winamp for now until they fix their issues, if this is even a coding issue of sorts.
Does the amazon app have to have written in code to take part in what I'd like it to do? I was under the impression that all the control sort of things were part of the bluetooth specs, but I am not knowledgeable with that stuff.
Apologies for the long post and thank you in advance for any help!!
TLDR = Winamp fails at streaming bluetooth, switched to Amazon player, car stereo playback controls only seem to work with Winamp and not Amazon player.
