Bluetooth Audio Streaming Issue

Hey there everyone. I've had my GNex since launch and haven't really had a problem with it.

I used my Gnex for literally EVERYTHING. It has replaced my iPod and I use it as my primary means of listening to music. Now on my old car, I was forced to use my phone plugged in with the auxiliary jack through a FM transmitter in order to enjoy my music in my car. The powers that be put me into a car accident and I now have a new car, fully loaded with GPS, Bluetooth, XM, Premium Sound System, the works.

I can connect and stream music fine through my Bluetooth, however I notice that I don't get the extra oomph that I was used to with my older car. Just as an experiment, I disconncted my phone from the Bluetooth and plugged my old AUX cord into the car instead and the difference is light and day. With the same songs, I'm getting a lot more mids and highs, and the bass is noticeably stronger. When I switch back to the Bluetooth, the same song I was playing just sounds meh.

I am using Volume+ on my phone, but only have it enabled for the back speaker and NOT for Bluetooth or for the headset. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is such a drastic difference? Any suggestions to make the Bluetooth streaming sound just as good as my AUX cable?

OS: 4.0.3
ROM: AOKP Milestone 3 (I believe)
I don't know what kernal I am using, as I forgot which one I put on XD

Thank you for all of your help in advance!

EDIT: I just tried streaming music with my iPod Touch 4G and my Droid Incredible 2. Both work flawlessly over Bluetooth and AUX.

I believe this just may be an inherit result of the convenience of "cutting the cord". I've never found Bluetooth streaming to be as good as a good ole plugged in 3.5mm cord.

You can install Volume+ as an option. Volume+ lets you set the settings for Bluetooth separately from speakers and headphones. You can add the extra oomph there.

To be honest, I just turned on the Volume+ modification for Bluetooth and without turning on the bass boost, the equalizer, or anything but just enabling it, the sound quality was even worse. I know that with my mother's car and my friend's Bluetooth car, the quality is much improved on Bluetooth.

you have the volume all the way up on the phone right?
first time I used it via bluetooth the music sounded all tinny and I had to put the car speakers on max volume.
then i realized I had the music volume on my phone all the way down.

after that it sounded perfect

I have not found volume + to be a good equalizer. I have found this app called equalizer to do a much better job but I can't get it to stay on despite the directions.

The volume is up. Its just not as clear. Not much bass at all.
