I am trying to use a USB DAC with my Android device. While it works well with most apps, it doesn’t output sound when making Bluetooth calls. I did some research and it’s said that because mic is used during the calls, the system handles the sound differently. It mentions that there should be settings to force the Bluetooth call sound to be output through USB. However, I couldn’t find the settings and also couldn’t use apps mentioned like Lesseraudioswitch, for they are not supported in Android 9 and later.

Anyone can help shed some light on the matter? Much appreciated .

Bluetooth call audio most probably won’t go through usb dac on android 9+ without root. And i don't recommend rooting.

So you want to use a mic that is Bluetooth connected, but route the audio through a wired connection? I can't even think of a case where that would be useful, and I doubt any Android device is set up like that. Bluetooth is an all or nothing connection.

I would be curious about the sources of your research that day this is possible.. If the answer starts with "According to [insert AI chat bot here]," then don't bother mentioning it. They are great at being confidently wrong.

The odd thing is that when using Apple CarPlay, the USB DAC works fine. I wonder how the audio is handled differently.
