Bluetooth audio streaming music

Hello,

Picked up my DNA a couple weeks ago to replace a Dinc2. It's a nice upgrade all around, but I've noticed a few quirks with the new phone.

The most annoying has to do with how my music plays over Bluetooth in my car (Mustang w/ Ford Sync). With my Dinc2, selecting the BT audio input on the car stereo would cause the Music app to start playing on the phone, and all the car stereo buttons would function (skip forward/back, pause/play, etc).

With my DNA, nothing at all happens when I select the BT audio input in my car. I must manually start the music app and hit 'Play' on the phone to start the music. This is with the phone already paired (calling works just fine). Once the music is playing, all the car stereo controls work fine to control the phone over BT; I just can't get the music to start playing without going to my phone to do it.

Since that sort of defeats the whole purpose of 'hands-free', I'd like to fix this, and set it so that selecting BT audio in the car auto-starts the music app on my phone. HAs anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you fix it?

I have the Focus with Sync and MyFordTouch. There are 2 possibilities I can think of that might cause your music not to auto-start (mine is working).
1. On the Sync itself there is a setting (under Bluetooth devices?) for auto-start. Maybe it is toggled off?
2. I tend to rotate between music apps. Many of them have a setting to auto-start when connecting to speakers (wired or wireless). Not all music players have this (Google Play Music does not, PowerAmp, Now Playing, etc.. do have it.

You can also try out an app called Media Button Router in the Play Store. I got it for my Pebble Watch & Nexus 4 but it works with all the BT connections I've tried. It probably isn't necessary with the DNA (I just came from a Nexus), but might be worth a look. It let's you change & control media players with the BT device (Ford Sync or Pebble Watch).
