Bluetooth connects, but not A2DP. Very frustrating

Have had the Pixel since last november and never had BT problems, except I just got a new car and now the phone will frequently not connect A2DP with car. Phone audio always connects, just not media. Under bluetooth settings, it will show it's paired to car with (no media) in parenthesis. Doesn't happen all the time, happens sporadically, but with high regularity.

Anyone know a workaround? A google search revealed plenty of people complaining about this issue and it seemed to be spread across the Nexus phones too. Wondering if any Pixel specific workarounds/fixes exist.

Much appreciated,

What car? What media system?

These issues are as likely the car's fault as the phone's. It's not always easy to tell exactly where the blame lies.

2017 ford raptor with Sync 3. Judging by the high activity on google's product forums about this very issue, I'd say it's a Pixel issue or a Nougat issue. I am curious if anyone else is having car BT issues.

I have Ford Sync. I had to perform a master reset on the Sync to fix it. Make sure the vehicle is in park, and the engine is running when you do it.
