So a year later still and we don't have this... Kinda disappointing to be honest. I will say however that after coming from an iphone 6plus to a nexus 6P, the battery data from my earbuds in the gym were not really all that accurate. I'd see 50% battery life remaining and then they'd die 20 minutes later. Could be shoddy battery reporting from the earbuds or bad guessing by iOS.
I've also read that other phones like the LG G4 will report bluetooth device battery data without having to install any 3rd party apps or anything like that so it IS possible but for now, it seems to just not be possible with stock android.
