Bluetooth Issues

I continue to have these issues with bluetooth drops and reconnects. I have a 30 minute commute and this happens 4-5 times. I'm on T-Mobile and have called this into HTC a few times with no resolution. I'm not going to do a factory reset b/c that is too much of a pain. I'm going to try HTC one more time and if that doesn't work I'm taking to Twitter to see if I can get some attention that way. The CSR at HTC says I'm the only person that have called them with this issue???? I directed them to this forum to get a few more examples.

I applied the latest update from HTC (1.80.617.1) and it appears to have resolved the issues that I have been having with Bluetooth stability. I have been listening to a podcast for 30+ minutes and haven't had any issues so far. This has been painful and I'm glad HTC was able to fix it so quickly. My only frustration is that I called them several times and the CSRs could not tell me that this was coming. They insisted that I factory reset my phone before any further steps could be taken. I was fairly certain a factory reset wouldn't fix it and I told them I was willing to wait for an update if they were aware of the problem and were going to fix it. After my fourth call, I was told that this update was coming out and it would address Bluetooth stability issues. I submitted this feedback to HTC. Again, I appreciate the fix but the communication was pretty poor.

I'll be waiting for that update then. My 10 works fine in the car and attached to my Amazon Echo via Bluetooth, but when I use Bluetooth headphones the connection is utterly horrible. Granted I have an old pair of LG Tone, and a brand new pair of Anker ear buds, both of which are cheap, they both have the same bad connection, static etc. Issues. I know HTC put a lot of work into their wired audio and I do appreciate that, but when I don't want to deal with wires I'd like things to work well. This was an issue with my M9 as well.

I have a specific issue with my Plantronics 505 connecting, and the people on the other end can hear me, but I cannot hear them until I switch from bluetooth to speaker, and then back again. Plus I cannot get consistent volume with any of my headsets. Either too high or too low.

Are you on an unlocked HTC 10? Just wondering - as it seems the latest update may have fixed the bluetooth issues for some.

Unlocked. updated. Thats why I think it is the headset, rather than the phone. But the volume issue is strange. Could be connection problems maybe?

I gotcha. I'm trying to decide if I want this phone - but I use Bluetooth pretty regularly so I need it to function properly.

Anyone else having Bluetooth issues with their phone? I'm not sure if this is specific to the Verizon version or not. My phone's Bluetooth has been disconnecting from both my Bluetooth headset and from my car. I have to manually reconnect the two. At first they will connect but then randomly disconnect. I've forgotten the Bluetooth items on the phone and rediscovered them. I've turned the phone off and back on. I'm not sure what else to do.

Ive been having issues with my blutooth too. When i connect to external speakers of any sort, as my music plays, it stutters out of nowhere. Is this a common issue? Does anyone know a fix?

I have the same issue when my phone is in my pocket connected to my BT headphones. No issues when the phone is laying out connected to BT speakers or headphones, only when its in my pocket.

I just got a new Forerunner (long story, and not a good one), and my M10 connects like a champ to the Forerunner's bluetooth, and the sound is great! I think I have gotten my bluetooth issues ironed out, not sure how they resolved themselves, but now even the Plantronics 505 works right. Sound levels are still inconsistent across headsets though.

Had similar issues with Cambridge go and my car. Just seemed to stop working. I opened the app manager done a force stop on is explorer and it all works again

Interesting. That very same update on my Sprint, unrooted HTC 10, seems to have broken my bluetooth. Whereas before I had no issues connecting or disconnecting with a wide variety of devices (speakers, headsets, laptops, etc.) I have nothing but problems now. Essentially, when I try to pair/re-pair a device, the bluetooth connection will just stop. No warning, just disconnects. If I persist and am lucky, it takes me now 30 minutes to enjoy music through my bluetooth headphones. If anyone knows what app might be causing this, setting, or IF indeed, this was caused by the most recent update, I would greatly appreciate it.:'(

And the bluetooth saga continues. Seems like when I have the phone "scan for bluetooth devices," it does not detect headphones. It is a HUGE disappointment to think that a software update may have caused this. Still hopeful. Still tinkering. But. Sigh. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Ditto...mine went out after installing the new Android security patches. I have been clearing cache rebooting when it happens. I also tried unpairing all seldom used devices and unpairing/pairing the device I am trying to use. It is a hassle, but at least for now it beats spending 2 days restoring my data and apps after a hard reset. HTC needs to fix the code that is causing the problem. This problem is too widespread to ignore.
