Any one know what would make my Bluetooth keep turning it's self on? I have a GS5 on Verizon with Lollipop 5.0. It has been doing it for a week or two. I have check all the settings and cleared the cache but it is still happening. Thanks for any help.

I personally, "if it were me" would back up my phone and do a Full Factory Reset. But, that's just me.

Chris

Yeah I know that helps but every time I do it it's a big hassle getting everything back the way I want it.

Do you use any Bluetooth devices? I had an issue with the Automatic dongle in my car where it was set to manage Bluetooth, and it would turn on regardless of when I turned it off.

I now suspect the Mi band fitness band. It updated recently and links via Bluetooth. I unpaired it and repaired it but still had the problem. I now have it unpaired and it seems to have fixed it so far. Thanks for the help.

Well still not working. It seems very random. Sometimes it doesn't turn itself on for hours and other times it will turn on 4 or 5 times in an hour. I have deleted the last 2 apps that I downloaded. I'm stumped and a little frustrated. Even though I hate to do it I may have to do a factory reset.

So for two day it never happened and now today it's done it like 20 times. Sometimes it does it when I turn on wifi Bluetooth comes on also.

This probably isn't the reason, but on my Nexus 6P, if I go to Settings>Location and tap Menu>Scanning, there's an option to turn on Bluetooth Scanning. Is there something similar on the S5 or S4? On pre-Marshmallow devices, it would probably be in the Settings>Bluetooth menu.

Thanks. Yes that is what it seems like but lollipop doesn't have Bluetooth scanning that I can see. It has Wi-Fi scanning and I have that turned off.

Try turning off "Only visible to paired devices setting in the Bluetooth options. I have a S5 also that was doing this and this seems to have fixed this

I have the same problem. Unpairing lately paired device did not help. My device is not visible to anyone (paired stuff included).
