Bluetooth Not Disconnecting Thus Causing Huge Battery Drain

For some reason, my phone isn't disconnecting from my car's Sync system when exiting. I usually discover it when checking GSam and seeing Bluetooth Share as a top power drainer. Then I'll notice the BT icon is blue, forcing me to toggle BT off and on to break the connection. This started about a month ago and I can't think of anything that's changed to cause it. It connects without a hitch nearly every time (have had maybe one or two isolated instances of it not automatically connecting) and audio app and call quality is fine.

I'm running rooted stock ROM with Faux123's 011m kernel, but this has been happening since 006 or so. I haven't seen anyone else complaining on the XDA thread with similar issues.

I'm having the same problem in my Toyota Prius, I've also noticed it occurring with my other bluetooth devices where the phone still shows it's connected. I'm running stock unrooted 4.2.2.

I'm hoping we get a bug fix for this during the next update.... Seems to be more than a couple bluetooth bugs on the N4.

My wife's nexus 4 has this problem, but mine does not. She has an aftermarket parrot system, mine is stock infiniti. Were both running the latest cm 10.1 nightly. Anyone have any advice?

I am also having this issue with my pioneer x5500 head unit as well as my Bluetooth headset.

It doesn't happen every time but it happens a lot. It connects to the device no problem but when turning off Bluetooth device my phone still thinks it's connected.

This definitely started happening after the last update to 4.2.2.

My phone is pure stock.

I have the same issue with my Galaxy Nexus (stock). Something with the Bluetooth software is plainly effed up.

Interesting. My phone just started doing this the other day. Now it's been a few days in a row. Totally killing my battery. At least I know what is going on now. Hope this gets fixed.

Has there been anyone else noticing this? I have started to notice a lot of connectivity issues with My N4 just in the last few weeks. Today I looked into why my battery is being wasted and saw the "Bluetooth sharing" was a major culprit. I have been in and out of the car several times today and barely used the phone. This afternoon when I picked up my phone it was at 21%. Another connectivity issue I have had is after connecting to wifi often times I will not stay connected to the cellular network until I reset the radio with a quick in and out of airplane mode. I know others have seen that one as well.

It is all solvable with some manual on and off of the wifi and bluetooth radios, but I would much prefer to just leave everything on all of the time.

I'm up to faux123's 16tbm kernel and I've had to toggle BT off/on at least once a day. So annoying.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Just a final post that 4.3 seems to have squashed this bug DEAD! I haven't seen it hang once since updating to the latest. Freaking took them long enough.

I just had this happen and realized my issue was because my bluetooth (which is in my GPS device) was not turned off in my car. Once I turned that off, my phone started working correctly. It was pretty frustrating for a while. I'm sure all the issues here are not that, but maybe someone....
