Bluetooth not prompting for code or password

Tried to connect to my available devise (jbl SB400 soundbar) it says that it cannot connect becuase incorrect password or code. It is not prompting me in my Bluetooth menu to put it in. I am sure it's 0000 or 1234. Any idea how to make this work?

The same thing is happening to me. The error message is on the phone. This is what I am doing:

Select add device on my car's bluetooth (car posts passcode on screen)
Make my phone discoverable
Choose my car's bluetooth...pairing starts
Pairing times out and phone tell me it could not pair because of an incorrect passcode

I am never prompted on the phone to enter the passcode
