My wife broke her galaxy note 9 and we got replacement via insurance claim. Her old device would connect to our car stereo fine. Now we have the new phone and it says paired on previous phone. The old phone is broken and won't turn off and can't get into phone. How do I get the new phone to connect to the stereo?

You probably just need to remove her old phone from your car stereo system. Check your car stereos user manual on how to do that or if you tell us the make and model of your car mybe someone knows how to do it.

The bluetooth on the phone says paired on previous phone if that makes a difference. Also it's a kenwood dnx7160.

Remove the pairing in your stereo. You shouldn't need a phone for that. If you don't know how, refer to a manual.
