Hi. I don't know what you can do with NFC that you can't do with Bluetooth? Any clues? I'm wondering if I should upgrade to the Moto g5 (from the g4+). Thank you in advance.

NFC is for close contact data transfer and with added security layers. BT is a wider range transmission protocol that's better suited for data streams like audio and control signals. NFC allows you to use payment systems that support it but won't help with anything Bluetooth... They're just different protocols with different purposes (NFC enabled headphones, for instance, only use NFC to auto pair with a device but since NFC cannot transfer audio packets because it would be impractical given the close contact required, will use BT for audio)

Thanks, I appreciate your answer!

Not that the g5 is a huge upgrade, but it does have a user replaceable battery, which is a brilliant feature to me. And my battery in my g4+ is starting to drain too fast (and my new wireless headphones have Bluetooth and music playing all the time now).

And you have already given the reason of your battery "drain" in the same sentence.
