Bluetooth volume in Skype call

Ok I know from reading posts everywhere that most everybody has problems with their headset volume. I use a basic LG unit which I had with my Droid1 and Droid2 Global and it worked fine. But it's way too low on the Thunderbolt. I just completed my first Video Skype call on 4g and it was great. What I noticed is it is much louder that a regular call in by earpiece? Is it possible HTC can do some tweaking of the bluetooth feature?
