51, so new to android I have not bought one yet, that said I've been doing some research and after initially thinking about buying the Amazon Fire HD I've changed to the Google nexus 7 and would obviously prefer the 32 gb version. I'm not sure how the google play site works for example If I buy a film am I just renting it for a limited time or can I download it to use for evermore? Same with music and books how does it all work. From reviews I've seen the Nexus looks best buy to me. I would appreciate any help with regard to what can I do once I have one and how things work.

My main reason to want one is to use on the go on holiday, in my car not whilst driving of course. Mainly for skype, web browsing, watching movies that I have on my PC and some I may download from other sites including Google play etc etc etc.

Well here goes in at the deep end with very little knowledge, limited IT skills and classed as junior member age 51 !

Bob don't settle on a 7" screen, really you are watching HD on a 7" screen, you will want more...trust me. Check out the Asus TF300T or TF700T.. I have both and love them...so much power and room. There is no lag in these tablets and HD movies are the way they should be, even Netflix looks good. I originally purchased the TF300T for myself and then the TF700T came out so I gave the 300 to the wife. Both tablets are great. The only diff I can see is the metal case and the price tag. Amazon is probably the best place to search. Pictures are so clear and video (example...search youtube "UTZ's WEDDING" (another one bites the dust) this was recorded with the 300. It's a friends wedding, enjoy.
