Bolt to get ICS via FB

This will keep me happy until Nov 18th, 2012. And you know what, I am happy to own a TB now and I have been through the nightmares and 4 or 5 maintenance releases since day 1. HTC might have just won them a repeat customer knowing they didn't kill off the bolt and they did keep trying to make it right. GB really stabilized this device. I don't have any issues with stock. I am also rooted and try out different roms here and there...

I just hope this happens quick so we can get working data on the custom ROMS

Extending the upgrade life of the phone will surely help the resale value. I'm not going to complain about that.

I would just like to point out of the 3 original lte phones the charge revolution and the thunderbolt. Where the only one getting ics officially. The charge is going to be stuck on gb. And the revolution I believe is still on froyo so for the all the people that said we made the wrong choice in the end I think we made the right choice.

Revo is actually on GB. GF has the Revo and she got the update in... I wanna say October.

And good about ICS I guess. I've got the phone for another 11 months so we'll see what this does.

I bought my TBolt on its official release date last year. The six months that followed that purchase were frustrating, irritating, annoying, and unsatisfying (but not necessarily in that order ;) ) But since the update delivered in September, the device has met all my expectations; I have become a Bolt fan.

When GB came, I cheered, and decided that, due to its onboard cpu, my phone had reached its OS limits. So for me, the news of ICS's eventual delivery is a delightful surprise.

Well done, HTC!

This is great news indeed. I never thought the tbolt would get ics (offically anyway). I wonder how ics runs on a single core device and i wonder if HTC is going to have to sacrifice some things to get it to run properly.

Tbolt+ Rezound battery +ICS= <3

I agree with the first two, but have to withhold judgement on ICS. Hopefully, it doesn't introduce new bugs or cause the random reboots again. You know there will be bugs though and probably another update after ICS to fix em. As it stands now, the Thunderbolt on Gingerbread is quite stable, so I'm more of the mindset: "Leave my Thunderbolt alone!" LOL :)

Definately could appreciate an update to ICS, but by the time we get ICS I hope there are minimal bugs if any since a handful of phone will receive the update by then.

When bamf offers and supports an ics for thunderbolt i'll consider it. No more htc/vzw beta testing for me thanks very much.

So... Does ICS mean that we will no longer need a third party screen shot app?

Yes, if you're using a custom rom. Check out the "post your screenshoots" thread. I took a screenshot using liquid's ICS beta ROM. When you hold the power button, there's a screenshot option as well has the usual power down, restart, etc. Sorry, I don't know the answer for the stock Verizon version.

Will I have to set up my Launcher Pro and Handcent apps again with ICS update?

I don't think anyone can know since no other phones have been updated to ICS.
