Booredatwork Review!!!

I know a lot of people are upset that the epic's touchwiz doesn't include everything the other phones have, but weren't a lot of people also upset about "having" touchwiz in the first place back when it was announced? Now here we are wanting "more" of it. Almost all the reviews I've seen say that the touchwiz on the epic is much more usable and seamless and an overall much more pleasant experience than the touchwiz on the other two phones. Maybe there's something you'll be able to feel once you're using it and have it in your hand. Nothing you can do about it now, wait until it comes out and see how it feels. Maybe the reviews are right and this touchwiz just feels right.

I do admit though that the bottom 4 icons should really be customizable. Though this seems like something that samsung will push out in an update. Maybe even all these features will be out in the future, and that it's just taking them a bit longer to get everything to work with the landscape keyboard.

I disagree - I don't think people want "more" persay but its almost like were A) paying more for our version(Yes I understand why etc) and B) We are given "TouchWiz" without all the amenities that should be across the board. Thats like saying were giving you an android experience on 5 carriers under the same branding YET this version of 3.0 has MORE than your version of "3.0" whether I use the apps or not I'd still like the OPTION to use or not - I think we need more of those on our mobile devices

Not sure what to make of that. The video definitely showed how snappy the phone is. Really like the built in task manager too. Very easy to use. I'm soooo confused with that launcher option though- if 1.5 is the launcher does that mean this phone isn't actually running Android 2.1? Or is it just the old stock launcher? I've never heard of that - running 2.1 features but 1.5 launcher?

I would really love if you could toggle off TW just to see if it bumps up performance or allows more apps to run simultaneously when you really need it (like google map navigation while streaming pandora audio).

Still bummed/confused about the touchwiz 3.0 omissions- but now I wonder- if they figured that the only way to release this on time was to do a TW3.0 "like" skin over 1.5 that would explain A LOT as to why certain omissions AND why the phone may work so well. Didn't the moment start with 1.5? That's a slider... I guess the question is when this gets updated to 2.2... just what kind of other additions/changes can we expect with this phone? And will gingerbread even be considered for this phone if it's sooo different from the rest of their Galaxy S lineup?

By the way- based on this video- I didn't see the capacitive buttons fail him more than twice during the entire review... shoot my evo was responsive, but once in awhile didn't respond either. I wonder if people are overreacting re: these buttons.

Now that I've had a chance to sit and view some thorough video of the OS I'm no longer concerned. Really looking forward to the phone now.

Placebo effect maybe? Anyways, it's launcher 1.5. It is still running Android 2.1 Eclair though. Just think of having a themed home screen in a way.
