boost mobile lg marquee?

Just bought this phone about 40 min ago and so far loving it but is there a way to take the id icon off the little dock or delet it and put messaging in it or brower? thanks new to the android os

one way is to switch to a different launcher. I use LauncherPro which is free from play store. A side benefit is that custom launchers tend to have better performance than the stock launcher.

Is there a way to root the phone and uninstall the mobile id would it take it off the default launcher? Also i want to know if theres a way to get a little better battery life on the std battery im getting about 9 ish hours right now but i have been playing with it but my normal day is a lot of texts (400+ daily) a few calls( under 20 a day about 15 min long) and listing to music for about a hour of total time and that gets me at 8 hr 50 min right now, there is a slim extended battery thats 1800 mah, how much longer will the phone last with that battery? Thanks everyone
