My battery life is AWFUL since the AT&T Marshmellow update. I want to wipe the partition cache but there are conflicting instructions out there on how to do it and none seem to work. Can someone please post a step by step guide to explain how to wipe the partition cache?

I'm new to V10 (T-Mobile), but I can tell you the battery life under MM is about the same as my old G4 under Lollipop. After a full day of moderate use I still have 30% or so battery left. I suggest you try harder to fix the problem or wait for 6.01. If you brick your phone that wouldn't be good.

You're lucky. I used to be able to make it thru the day with 40-50% left, now I'm in the single digits.

Exactly HOW would I brick the phone by wiping the partition cache?

I would like to know the exact procedure as well. I didn't have really any luck searching for it.

Settings- storage & usb- internal storage. Click on cached data and then wipe. There isn't a way to wipe from recovery unless you have something like twrp installed. If you try to boot to recovery without it, it will just ask if you want to do a factory reset.

And this procedure does the same exact thing as the recovery mode version on other phones?

Sorry I didn't read your post correctly. I thought you wanted to go back to lollipop...nevermind.

Turn off your phone, Hold down power and volume down buttons at the same time until recovery mode shows. There are options to wipe cache and factory reset. Hope this is what you were looking for.
