So I'm on my second optimus s after my first was stolen and this one does not like to be overclocked at ALL. This really limits me on what roms I can use so if anyone has the boot_600_max.zip from the old thundeROM thread so I can flash any rom I want and then flash that zip bc if I overclock over 600mHz my phone won't even boot past the LG logo.

Also if anyone has a non overclocked kernal for the optimus s that would work too I can't find one for the life of me.

Why not get setcpu for free from xda and you can even try some intermediate values that might work?

SetCpu won't help because if I flash a rom that is already overclocked above 600mhz my phone won't even boot it just keeps looping on the LG Logo. I tried flashing reborn Rom and then I flashed an optimus v kernel with no overclocking (bumblebee) and it worked perfectly but now my home and menu buttons are switched :( I can't find an optimus s kernel without overclocking

While I don't have an answer regarding your overclock issue I would recommend checking out the link in my signature if you decide to keep it the way you have described, you can swap the home and menu back :D

Thanks the button remapping worked like a charm but I just realized that my accelerometer isn't working I'm assuming bc I'm using an optimus v kernel. I've toggled the auto-rotate setting and nothing.

No one knows where I can find that boot_600_max zip because that would be a much more elegant solution for me. I know someone on this forum has that zip sitting around.

May not help, but I believe the later thunderoms did not have overclocked kernels; e.g. 1.7 says it is using stock kernel and the 1.8 (VD) roms do not mention anything about an overclocked kernel. Maybe worth a try.
