'Booting failed' while trying to update Nexus 7 to 5.0

Hello, let me just give you a bit of back story.

I tried to use ADB to do an OTA, but I kept getting Status 7 errors, so I factory reset my tablet and tried to flash a factory image of 5.0 using Nexus Root Toolkit. It said it should boot as soon as it was done, but it didn't happen, so I told it to boot manually, and it just said 'Booting failed'.

Have I unintentionally hard bricked my device or something, and is there something I can do to fix it?

I have just restarted the bootloader, and it says at the bottom of the screen:
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT NAME - grouper
HW VERSION - ER3
BOOTLOADER VERSION - 4.23
BASEBAND VERSION - N/A
SERIAL NUMBER - (something tells me I shouldn't post this on the internet)
SIGNING - not defined yet
LOCK STATE - LOCKED

What do I do now? You'll have to walk me through it.

ADB can't find my device, but Fastboot can, is there hope?

This has been solved, I followed an online tutorial. I would link it for other people with the same problem but I don't know whether I'm allowed to.

I just had the same problem. I missed the install drivers step. Once I figured that out it was all good.

Hi JackWilfred. I have the same problem. Can you send me the link on the tutorial on how to fix this. Thanks.

I am guessing you just need to follow the Driver install to the letter. Its explained very clearly in the NRT,

Please send link I tried to downgrade my 2012 nexus 7 from 5 to 4.4 using NRT and now it is stuck with the same booting failed and my pc will not see it
