Bootloader DO.11 message. Android Verizon Droid 2 Global A956 QWERTY

Thank you for helping me.

For no apparent reason cannot use my phone. Message white letters on black screen is:

Bootloader
DO.11

Battery OK
OK to program
Connect USB
Data Cable

I do not know what to do and would appreciate help. I bought the phone online about six months ago, to replace my other which stopped working. I did try plugging the phone into the USB port, and it came back to the usual startup, but then has gone back to the same message.
