I have a V20 and a V10 (back-up), no problems. I have read about the bootloop problem with the V10 but I have never experienced it. I think it is a very limited problem just made bigger by the Internet.

Lateck,

Lateck,

I have two friends with G4s at work and no complaints. They had the phones since they were released. Of course that doesn't negate the fact that the G4 and V10 indeed suffers from the issue but I don't think it happens to every single device.

I'm not putting my $800 phone in the freezer. I don't want it more messed up as it is.
To each their own, but that's what worked for most people with the G4 (myself included) and V10 to get their data backed up. It wasn't meant to be a long term solution, just used for situations where someone had nothing left to lose.

Exactly. When my GF's G4 bootlooped I stuck it on the freezer for about 20 minutes before we went to T-Mobile to Jump it. It booted right up at that and gave me a good 20 or so minutes to get things backed up. T-Mobile didn't care that I put it in the freezer. It was already failing, what's some cold temps gonna hurt.

Yes it does. It just restarts randomly.

Then that's not the "classic" bootloop issue; if it had that problem, you wouldn't be able to ever complete the boot or do a hard reset.

You may have other issues with your phone, but it's not the bootloop.

+1

Correct. this are not typically symptoms of "bootlooo". That would be mostly considered random restarts. Try factory resets.

You have random restart condition. That not the bootloop condition. If it was the bootloop issue you would not get into the phone at all. Could be an app causing the problem. You could booting up in safe mode to see if it does it. How often does it reboot?
As recommended by others try a factory reset if you can determine which app.

Factory reset won't work. Did it numerous times
I see. if you can try powering off the device, take out the battery and don't put it back until 15 (or 5). Then insert it back and see how it goes.

Did you just joined AC forums today (03/31/17) to tell everyone you've gotten your V20 bootlooped, but have not shown us a video proof of it? I also don't believe it because there has been zero cases of any LG G5 or V20 boot looping.

If you are being truthful, first off, it could be the following reasons why it is happening:

- Exposed the device to water: phones with water damage will bootloop. There is a small white sticker on the battery and back of the device. If it shows a red XXXX symbol, then that means you exposed it to liquid. Did you expose it to water or any humid environment? (Sweat, steam room, bathroom, etc.) Show us a pic to verify.
- Turned off the phone or removed the battery during an OS update. Very common, not a real bootloop but corrupted OS. This is fixable. Did you turn it off during an OS update?
- Overheated: At very extreme temperatures, the phone will get damaged internally. Were you in or near a very hot environment?
- Magnetized: Magnets will damage electronics, usually very strong ones. Did you have magnets near it?

I'm going to repair the software.

The OS might be corrupted. Can you at least boot into recovery mode?

Wait while the shut down process is completed.
Then, press and hold (at the same time and for a few moments) the Volume Down and Power buttons.
When the LG Logo is displayed, release the Power Key but keep pressing the Volume Down button; while doing so press only once the Power button.
Release all the keys as soon as the recovery mode menu is displayed on your LG V20.

We already figured out he doesn't have bootloop... He gets random reboots.

I've had mine since release and no issues. You're still under warranty just do a warranty swap.
