The four buttons below the Phone icon - Home, menu, escape and search - are sometimes lit and then for some unexplained reason, they remain unlit. Is there some way to keep them on...or is it a glitch in my phone???
Any thoughts?

i noticed in bright light mine are off.. then when i went into a dark area to test it out.. the lights went back on.. but then i went back into the sunlight and they stayed on.. but then i locked my phone and unlocked it and went back to the home screen.. and they were back off. i think it auto-adjusts similiar to how the auto brightness screen feature works?

It's got to do with the light sensor next to the verizon logo. It will adjust itself if it feels there is enough or not enough light.

I copied and pasted from Driod. Does seem to work?

View xBBuser's Gallery On my Inc if I put my thumb over the top LEFT corner of the phone it will block the sensor. Basically, just left of the gold Verizon check mark and above the screen. In the black area.

These light stay on and when watching a movie in a dark room is very annoying mine stay on

I'm having the same issue with my phone. I've been in areas of my home where it's not very bright and those keys still won't be lit. I've tried adjusting the brightness settings to see if this had any affect and also setting the brightness to the auto detect option....still have issues with them not lighting up in lower light places. It acts more like a bug with the phone to me as I have had devices with a sensor before that weren't as irratic as the sensor on this phone seems to act.

this isn't an "issue", it's a "feature"...disable auto brightness adjustment in the settings, should do it!

If my screen isn't on, the lights don't come on. If it's dark and my screen is on, I WANT the lights on. Sometimes, if it is merely dim in the room, I want them on and just cover up the spot on the phone with my finger for a second to turn them on.

Sorry, I don't think I'm understanding your issue with this.

I know it's great..I love HTC. Just think this little thing they did is saving our battery life, how long have you had your phones? We know were these buttons are I would gladly save my juice for something better.

I'd like to keep the lights on whenever the screen is on. I have a hard time seeing the icons when not backlit.

OMG.... You're bumping several times a day... No one has seen an app specifically made to keep the menu row lights of a Droid Incredible on at all times... It's a feature of the phone... If there is bright light around the phone, the lights will turn off, if the light is dim, they turn on... That's it!
