Bought a Black S3

I just picked up Black S3 for 479 w/18 months Int free. Good idea or mistake?

They had the S2 for 279 yesterday but I missed it.

You can try if the Galaxy Lights app work for it.

I've never had a Samsung that didn't have that setting and I've had countless Sammys.

My contacts app kept closing everytime I tried to open it. Downloaded Google contacts and disabled Samsung's.

Joking aside, i have 2 Tab S2s but the 8 inch size. Great tablets and only reason why I didn't get S3 is because they didn't make the 8 inch size. I think you bought the better device and for $480, I think you can't go wrong. Enjoy it, amazing tablets.

One thing I've noticed is the standby battery life isn't very good. Mine loses about 20% in 12 hours.

Change wifi settings to be disabled when tablet not in use and watch your standby goes NUTS. I have wifi disconnecting when tablet goes to sleep and I lose like 1% the entire day. It's crazy.

Get an Active Stylus for the S2 then. Personally I'd think that's a better buy if you really don't need the added performance boost.

Well, practically any active stylus on Amazon will work. An active stylus is just a battery powered stylus that allows it to have a point close to the size of the nib of an S Pen, hence close accuracy. The S Pen still has a smaller nib though. I think the smallest nib on an active stylus is about 2mm. If I remember the S Pen now has like 0.7mm.

The difference apart from nib size is that the Active Stylus will have problems with thicker tempered glass protectors, unlike the S Pen. The difference is in how they work.

Just search on Amazon, and look for the one best suited to what you want in terms of size, pricing, battery, design, etc.
