Bought a used s7edge

I bought a s7 edge and note 7 from a "friend" that was financing them. After I gave them the money and got the phone they called and said they are defaulting their vzw account. I use pre paid service. I went to my service provider and asked if I can use the phone they said I could BUT if money is owed (which it is) vzw will blacklist it, which will make it useless. Is this true? I spent a lot of cash on them already, can't see me having these as very expensive paperweights.

Needless to say we're not that friendly, and I will not be trusting ppl like I did this time.

This is true. If they get blacklisted, you're pretty much screwed.

Was this purchase through paypal? if so, then you can dispute it and get your money back. This is bad business by the seller.

My service is prepaid. Metro pcs. I just talked to a guy that clean imei numbers and he said I'll be able to use it on cricket or metro pcs even with it blacklisted


I've found several company's that clean imei numbers. So only time will tell.

Was this purchase through paypal? if so, then you can dispute it and get your money back. This is bad business by the seller.

Unfortunately it was a cash and carry. I knew the guy through a mutual friend. They aren't stolen, they were his, he isn't going to be paying his bill anymore. I just don't want to be out $800.

I wish you the best of luck. I've had a few instances just like this. Buying what seemed to be something it wasn't. I would never do anything like this to anyone. It's a darn phone. But not all are created equal. Like I said. Best of luck and report with your results.
