Bought Chromecast - but have no HDMI in TV. Is it possible to convert? Someone told me, that Chromecast transmit signal that you cant convert.
I've tried to put cables from TV's YPrPb ports to converter that has HDMI in which I then plugged the Chromecast, but it does not work.

Any ideas?

Thx

Your actually going to need a pretty expensive converted. HDMI is a digital signal. Coax and the YPrPb ports are analog signals.

Also is your TV HD? If it isn't a minimum of 720 I wouldn't think it would work. HD TVs can take an input and output it to their resolution. If you hook an HD converted signal up to an SD TV it wouldn't do anything I don't think

As has been already said an coax adapter would cost more than twice the chromecast I bet

If your TV doesn't have HDMI, before spending money on a converter, you may want to consider upgrading your TV.

It is absolutely possible to use Chromecast on a TV without HDMI. I am doing it on an old TV I have in a spare room. Works great. I bought this:

Amazon.com: HDMI Converter for Google Chromecast: Use Chromecast with Older TVs that have Composite (red/white/yellow) Inputs. Includes Converter, Power Adapter Cable and Composite Video Cable. [NOTE: CHROMECAST SOLD SEPARATELY]: Electronics

The picture is a little compressed but that's because HDMI is 16:9 and my TV is 4:3, but I prefer this to zoom. I see the whole picture and the picture quality is great. I highly recommend it. It installed in about 2 minutes.

Worth noting is that the HDMI converter @ $25 plus a Chromecast @ $35 costs a total of $60. A Roku 2 (2720R, 2014 model) costs $50 and has A/V cables you'd need to connect to your 4:3 TV (and can probably operate in 4:3 mode too).

That sounds great. Do you know if the tv need to be hd?
