Brand New Gear VR head tracking keeps cutting out

I just got the new gear VR with remote and whenever I try to use it, it works most of the time but every once and awhile the head tracking cuts out and then back in a few seconds later causing serious motion sickness is there any known cause or fix for this?

Edit: also I figured out that it only happens while charging through the Gear VR
