Bricked HTC Hero

Hello all,

I have an HTC hero CDMA that I tried to root with [ROOT] *UPDATED* RegawMOD Hero Rooter v3.0 | Updated - 04/03/12 - xda-developers. It said everything installed correctly, it rebooted and now the touch screen will not respond. Cannot boot into recovery, only HBoot menu. Going to recovery option only reboots the phone. I am at a loss here. The Optimus S I have was easy, so was the Nexus S 4G.

The Hero now will not respond with touch screen at all, or any usb thru the same root method, htc sync, or adb shell. Any thoughts of what I could do to back out of this?

When you boot does it hang at the HTC screen? My Hero did the same thing and I was unable to get into Recovery. I was suggested several options that you can referenced and tried for yourself here: Stuck at HTC screen, won't boot - xda-developers

Keep in mind that I was unable to restore mine and considered it fully bricked. This occurred when I rebooted the device (for no reason other than to just reboot it). It was rooted with partition mods on the device. I suspect the data was corrupted and the reboot bricked it.

Good luck and give the above thread I posted a read for some solutions. It may involve downloading an update.zip onto the sd card and loading it via the Hboot menu. Hope that helps

Downloading the ruu from sprint fixed this issue.
