Bricked lg optimus v

Haha this is kinda funny because i went to the moto triumph almost after this ( i do have to say my old OV was a champ haha ) But my moto triumph FAILED no service almost period in my own home with my last OV i sold it for $50 to a friend and such.. Whats funny is that my MT died screen issue flickering and un responsive and i bought a new ov and it picks up better reception than the MT? hahaha im keeping my bought ov and selling the shipped MT haha! However i have the new out-of-the-box OV kinda sucked to root haha! Got it though..

I did the same thing, however my phone wasnt rooted when i did it and i got the same result. After speaking with virgin mobile, i found out if you do a factory reset and you have less than 50% battery.. You can and WILL brick your phone. Itd be nice if they gave us a warning, right? Assuming thats what you did and it had absolutely nothing to do with you rooting your phone, go on and get your replacement phone! Its stupid that there isnt a warning, but like you said thats the way the cookie crumbles.

im new to this whole android forum so im just goin to ask.... i have a optimus v that i got from a friend of mine that is stuck on the blue fastboot screen is there anyway i can get out of this i have no clue about the whole fastboot thingy lol

This could mean you have no recovery and a messed up ROM.
At least you are in fastboot.

Do you have the Android SDK with the path to it's adb.exe in your computers environment variables?
Do you have the LG USB drivers for the V.

We can give it fastboot commands to wipe the partitions, then flash a recovery.
With the recovery we can install the ROM and Gapps.
Go to the Rooting, ROMs, and Hacks sub-forum.
Scroll down and look for the MiRaGe ROM and the ZenGarden recovery.
You will need the 20110828-signed.zip Gapps. Don't use the new talk version.
Let me know what you have and don't have.

No need for the KDZ at this time. A fastboot screen is a lot easier to deal with.
The KDZ Guide only has the ZV5 firmware. We have yet to ascertain what baseband the phone is. I have a .kdz file for both the ZV4 and ZV5, but there is no need for them just yet.
If Michelle Culp ever gets back with some info I'm sure it will be a lot easier to erase the recovery partition and flash a new recovery with fastboot commands and then flash the ROM and Gapps.
If the KDZ where to be used (which can be a bit of a pain to deal with some times) then once the firmware is flashed there will still be a need to root, install the flash_image, flash the recovery, ROM and Gapps.

Which do you think would be quicker and easier?
