i have completely screwed my buddies phone trying to root. any chance you could help me out? its only 2 days old if that helps with the software and hboot versions. i cant get the phone to even start up. just keep getting the black screen with the red exclamation point. any help would be much appreciated.

its only 2 days old if that helps with versions of software and hboot. it wont load past the white htc screen no matter how long it sits. and in recovery it wont go past the black screen with the red exclamation point. it is useless right now and he is pissed haha. so i need some help.

You can download a rooted Stock ROM in a ZIP file from XDA's site, copy it to the root of the SD card, rename it to UPDATE.ZIP, reboot the phone, then the phone's HBOOT will automatically find it and start loading the ROM again. Or, you can do the RUU method with the phone attached to the USB on your computer.

He probably has a new hboot and you used the wrong method to root
